Thought for the day 27th of December

There is a difference between knowledge and wisdom.

Let me give you an example: Knowledge is realising that you are about to cross a one-way street; wisdom is checking both ways anyway before crossing. The knowledgeable people will be safe from getting hit by a car, so long as everyone else is like them – knowledgeable i.e. not going to drive the wrong way down the street, whereas the wise people should always be safe.

Thought for the day 19th of January

In this new year, grant me the serenity to accept things I cannot change,
grant me the courage to change the things I can,
and grant me the wisdom to know the difference.

Grant me the patience for the things that take time,
grant me the appreciation for all that I have,
and grant me the tolerance for those with different struggles.

That was my adapted version of the Serenity Prayer.
