A scary thought

I have just had a really scary thought. If I were to die right now, my writing on this blog would still live on for a few weeks.

I would be dead and yet some of my content would yet to be published.

This โ€˜death defyingโ€™ trick can be done all thanks to the WordPress schedule post feature. This post was not actually written on the 11th of February, but the 23rd of January instead.

An article scheduled for the 11th of February 2011

An even scarier thought is that by the time this scheduled post about scheduled posts gets out, I could have gone under a bus, got hit by a train or had a heart attack.

What a terrible thought.

Hopefully I am not dead and hopefully my server isnโ€™t down so on the 11th of February 2011 you are able to read this scheduled post ๐Ÿ™‚

Scheduled posting is very handy for me and for you. For you it means you have a constant stream of new content, and for me it means I can manage my time more effectively.

For example today (23rd of January not 11th of February) I have written three articles. This is because sometimes I can be in a great mood for writing, so I just write and write and write. But then when I am too busy or my writing cap isnโ€™t firmly screwed on, I might now write anything for days.

Whatโ€™s your opinion on this โ€“ is scheduled posting a good thing?

  • I love scheduled posting … and I hope you’re here today. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • There is schedule posting, but as far as I am aware, there is no schedule commenting as of yet Lillie, so here I am!

“I love scheduled posting” – couldn’t sum it up better myself ๐Ÿ™‚

I am here and thankfully haven’t “gone under a bus, got hit by a train or had a heart attack” since I wrote the post. Although on revision, I suppose it is possible to have all of those terrible things happen to me, and still be here – unlikely though ๐Ÿ˜›

BUT I am still okay and have more posts planned for the future ๐Ÿ™‚

As always thanks for the comment, your contribution is valued ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I like this option a lot because sometimes I can’t write for days while on other days I can write more than 3 posts about many things. I can easily schedule them for some later date and can sleep well as I shouldn’t worry about the next post.

    • It is a very nice thought isn’t it DiNaRa ๐Ÿ™‚

A short burst of writing and you have posts set up for you for quite a while!

BTW – In future ‘DiNaRa’ would you try using Keyword Luv please. This means you put YourName/Nickname@YourKeywords, and in my case it would show up as Christopher from Philosophy Blog. Just a thought, as DiNaRa isn’t all that helpful when other readers want to address you ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyway, thanks for the comment, hope to see you again soon!
