Bye bye snow, hello 2011!

On the 9th of December, I posted an article entitled Let it snow! where I wrote about the sprinkling of snow that I had added to my blog. Throughout December its been snowing on my blog, but now its nearly 2011, so the snow has stopped.

So what can you expect from my philosophy blog in 2011? Articles, and lots of them! I also have a few updates planned for the blog, which I hope to implement in the new year. A faster, smarter, easier to read blog is what I hope to create in the new year.

Happy New Year 2011

My blog is yet to turn 6 months old, and yet its had over 50 posts already this year, not a bad achievement I would say! :)

I hope you have a really great new year, and I wish you the best of luck with any resolutions you may have.

Goodbye 2010 hello 2011!

Happy New Year :)

Thought for the day 29th of December

You are exactly the same as everyone else…

Unique!

Thought for the day

Merry Christmas!

Billions of people around the world today will be celebrating the Christian festival of Christmas. On this day Christians mark the birth of the founder of the religion – Jesus Christ.

Merry Christmas!

Father Christmas (A.K.A. Santa Claus/Saint Nicholas) is commonly associated with the festival in many countries. He is the bringer of gifts, perceiving whether someone has been good or bad throughout the year and giving them a present/presents reflecting that. In France they have a similar character known as Papá Noel/Père Noël, in Iceland he is known as Jólasveinn, Joulupukki in Finland etc.

Father Christmas

I want to wish everyone a very merry Christmas, I hope you have a really great time!

Merry Christmas! :D

Its nearly Christmas!

Its only “three sleeps ’till Santa” so what better way to get in the festive spirit than to try out my new festive animation!

Its only three sleeps till Santa

Last year I made a similar animation and posted it on my technology and social blogs, but this year it can be found on my website and three blogs.

I hope you have a great Christmas and a fantastic new year – now sit back, relax and watch the snow fall!

Today is winter solstice!

You might not know it, but if you live in the Northern Hemisphere, today is the shortest day of the year. Okay the day is the same length as any other day of the year (24 hours) but the amount of time that it will be light, should be the least of any day all year – this obviously depends on cloud cover though.

If you live in the Southern Hemisphere however, you will be experiencing your summer solstice today, meaning the most light all year!

The further away from the equator you get, the less extreme the light change, some places will hardly get dark today, whilst others will have only minutes of light.

From now on it will start getting lighter in the Northern Hemisphere, and darker in the Southern Hemisphere. On the 21st of June, the solstices will be reversed.

Probably not the most important thing in your life today, but hopefully something new to add to your trophy cabinet of knowledge!

Enjoy your solstice, whichever you have :)
