There is a difference between knowledge and wisdom.

Let me give you an example: Knowledge is realising that you are about to cross a one-way street; wisdom is checking both ways anyway before crossing. The knowledgeable people will be safe from getting hit by a car, so long as everyone else is like them – knowledgeable i.e. not going to drive the wrong way down the street, whereas the wise people should always be safe.
